Concrete Beams in a Roadway Lowering Project
As part of the LRT Purple Line construction in Ramat Gan, works to lower a section of Rafael Eitan Road into a 12 metre deep cutting were carried out.
Ashcrete produced 72 prefabricated beams with two types of AASHTO sections to serve as supporting elements for the excavation walls - a type of “pressure beam” for the cutting. The beams were manufactured on the production line with pretensioning, their length varying between 25 - 30 metres; a total volume of 550 cu.m. was produced.
